Abstract

This study addresses the concept of artificial intelligence and its role in building the knowledge society within the context of the accelerated digital transformation taking place worldwide, driven by successive developments in information and communication technologies. Amid these transformations, Artificial intelligence emerges as one of the key drivers of this transformation, given its capabilities in processing data, analyzing information, and supporting the production and utilization of knowledge.

In the same context, the study aims to examine the role of artificial intelligence in supporting digital transformation and the concept of the  knowledge society, and then to review its most prominent applications in the fields of scientific research, education and digital services, it also discusses the main challenges facing the adoption of artificial intelligence, particularly ethical challenges related to privacy and the responsible use of data, technical challenges represented by weak digital infrastructure and the shortage of specialized expertise, as well as knowledge-related challenges associated with the need to develop individuals digital skills.

The study concludes that artificial intelligence represents an important opportunity to enhance knowledge production and develop various sectors. However, achieving sustainable benefits from it remains contingent upon providing appropriate digital infrastructure, developing competencies and skills, and establishing ethical and regulatory frameworks that ensure the responsible and equitable use of these technologies, there by achieving a balance between the requirements of technological advancement and the preservation of human values.
