Islamic Education, Artificial Intelligence, The Roles of Teachers, Values.Abstract
This study addresses the topics of digitalisation and artificial intelligence, specifically in relation to the roles of teachers of Islamic Education. This raises questions about the future of society’s value and knowledge systems, because this generation—whose knowledge, values and behaviour we seek to shape—has been exposed to the digital world from the moment they opened their eyes, through various smart devices such as mobile phones, televisions, computers, entertainment devices and video games.
Numerous studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of artificial intelligence tools in enhancing teachers’ efficiency and the quality of educational outcomes. The use of such programmes has become an educational necessity rather than a luxury, as they make learning enjoyable and foster creativity and innovation, whilst contributing to the development of values in a sound manner; They are undoubtedly effective in improving the quality of education if used correctly and appropriately by both teachers and learners, which necessitates an update to the functions and roles of subject teachers to keep pace with this digital transformation.
