Communication plays a fundamental role in various aspects of human life, and its importance is particularly evident within the university environment, which represents a microcosm of society. In this context, communication practices manifest in multiple forms directly linked to the core elements of the communication process: sender, receiver, message, channel, effect, and environment. This study reviews the major domains of communication within universities, beginning with self-communication, which enables students to develop self-awareness, regulate emotions, and manage psychological pressures. It also examines peer communication, which appears through dialogue, collaboration, and the building of positive social relationships, as well as communication with faculty members, which constitutes a key component of the teaching-learning process. Furthermore, the study explores communication between students and institutional systems, highlighting the degree to which students accept and adapt to the administrative and organizational frameworks of the university. Drawing on multiple theoretical models and previous research, the study emphasizes the role of communication in fostering academic engagement, improving learning outcomes, and supporting students’ social and psychological development. Ultimately, the study concludes that university communication is not merely the exchange of information; rather, it is a pedagogical, psychological, and social practice that contributes to shaping students’ personalities and enhancing their integration into the academic community.
