Pedagogical and Technological Innovation in Higher Education: Conceptual Frameworks and Perspectives for Development

Abstract

This article examines the role of pedagogical innovation in higher education, with a particular focus on the Moroccan context. In a rapidly changing environment shaped by globalization and the development of information and communication technologies, universities are required to rethink their teaching practices in order to enhance learning quality and meet labor market demands.

Using a qualitative approach based on documentary analysis, this study explores the conceptual foundations of pedagogical innovation, its various forms, and the educational policies implemented in Morocco to promote it. It also highlights the role of digital technologies in transforming teaching and learning practices.

The findings reveal that, despite ongoing efforts, the effective integration of pedagogical innovation remains limited due to several constraints, including human, technological, organizational, and financial factors. The study emphasizes the need to strengthen teacher training, improve infrastructure, and foster an institutional culture that supports innovation.

Ultimately, pedagogical innovation emerges as a key driver for modernizing Moroccan higher education, provided that a comprehensive and collaborative approach involving all stakeholders is adopted.
