This article addresses the teaching of poetry in secondary vocational education, examining its place within official educational guidelines and the role it plays in developing learners' linguistic, communicative, and aesthetic skills. It seeks to highlight the methodological foundations that govern the teaching of poetic texts, based on approved pedagogical references, and analyzes the process of teaching them in the classroom, through the various stages of reading, understanding, analysis, composition, and evaluation. The article also discusses the main difficulties encountered in teaching poetic texts, whether related to the specificity of poetic language and the density of meanings and rhetorical images, or those related to traditional classroom practices, learners' perceptions, and limited school time. It concludes that improving the teaching of poetic texts requires a review of established didactic practices and the adoption of modern approaches that make learners active in constructing meaning and contribute to the development of aesthetic taste and the ability to interpret.
