This study examines the relationship between digital identity and transformations of self-representation among young people in the context of widespread social media use. The research was conducted in El Aïoun Sidi Mellouk, Morocco, using a quantitative approach. Data were collected through a questionnaire administered to a non-probability snowball sample of 100 young respondents. The findings indicate that young people carefully construct positive online images by selecting photos, posts, and content that reflect their desired self-image. Social media platforms provide greater opportunities for self-expression, leading to a partial distinction between real-life identity and digital identity. The study also shows that online interactions, such as likes, comments, and shares, function as important forms of social recognition and contribute to strengthening self-confidence and self-esteem. Furthermore, digital platforms encourage individualism and digital self-display through the sharing of personal experiences and achievements. The study concludes that digital identity is a dynamic and continuously reconstructed process shaped by online interactions and the pursuit of social recognition
