This article examines the Sunni doctrine regarding the Prophet’s household, outlining the linguistic and technical meanings of ahl, al, and bayt, and discussing the Quranic and Prophetic evidence related to their virtues and rights. It argues for a balanced Sunni approach that affirms their status without exaggeration or neglect.
